I love the rain, I think I told some of you before... but this morning, it’s another touching meaning to it... I've just watched 'Be With You' a jap movie... sure enough, with a title like that, it is no doubt a love story... hey but don’t be fooled, it's really nice... it made me laugh, cry even laugh as I cried... that's how silly love could be... HEhee...
This is a Long one.. so please be patient.
Story goes:
Sometime back a miracle happened…
A single parent, Takumi (Dad), was to raise a child, Yuki, after his wife pass on to the next world… Miyo (Mother) has made a promise to Yuki that she will return back to them the next rainy season before she pass on… and Yuki believes in that… (This was all part of a fairytale book where people pass on to the alfusta [I think that’s how u spell it] star, and would come back during the rainy season)
Takumi has this illness, where buy he can't be where lots of people are. He will be unable to move if he is too worked out. He met up with his Doctor for a check up and he was told that his perfectly alright up till now and he began some heart to heart talk… Takumi told the Doc, Yuki believes that his mom would come back… he himself knows that it is not possible… Then the Doc asked ‘do u wish for it to happen?’ Takumi knobbed…
Everyday Takumi apologized to Yuki for the terrible breakfast & dinner that he made. But Yuki understands, and he always replies ‘it’s ok, I can eat it’. The Festival was coming; Takumi knew he had to bring Yuki out… So he did, and sadly he fainted while looking for Yuki in the crowd. Once again he apologized.
Finally the rainy season came; Yuki took Takumi to search for a time capsule that he and his mom hid in an abandon warehouse of some sort. While Yuki searched, Takumi closed his eye in peace with the rain… He turned back, He saw Yuki stunned… and ‘Mommy’ he called out… Takumi turn to where Yuki was staring at… a Lady sat at where the rain and light was coming from above the broken roof… Takumi and Fuji walked up to her… But she seems at all lost… She had no idea of her name, her past…
Miyo was taken home and was taught of her pass, at least about her having a family to begin with… so that she can at least fit in with them from there… after accepting that fact, I guess the other interesting question to come from one that has totally lost her memory would be, how did she fell in love with the man she married..? Hehe… Takumi told her… they were classmates back in college. He mentions that they were sitting next to each other in class for 2years... She was smart and always cheerful like a model student, and he likes that… however he had always thought of her as one who is not interested in love and guys, and definitely not him for he has nothing to be admired about (outcast). Thus it might just be a one-sided love. Takumi was in the track team but he quit after a race in his freshman year… reason being, during that race a competitor cheated causing him to fall and he couldn’t catch up. He couldn’t convince the judges and as he left the stadium, the spotlights were shut off while the medal was given out to the 1st place winner of that race… God knows why and so he walked out… after quitting the team, he train like hell himself…
Graduation, each was going to their own University… Just before that, Miyo hands out her Dairy Notebook to Takumi for him to pen down some words.. He wrote “It has been nice sitting next to you” and pass it back to her with his pen… Miyo accepts the book and ran out…
That’s it Takumi thought as Miyo flew over to Tokyo Uni… But it wasn’t enough… he wish he could have seen her one more time… ((This part I was laughing like mad)) He got to know Miyo was working part time over at Tokyo somehow and manage to get her number… He called, she picks up.. he hang up and ran out the telephone booth… he tries again… this time he manage to ask her out with a stupid lie about getting back that precious pen of his. ((well whatever works, and this getting things back excuse really works =p))
They met up just for that trade, and as Miyo walks away… Takumi made a move… he asked “do u happened to have some time for a cup of coffee?” Miyo replied “I do”… For hours he spoke, thinking that if he stops she will leave… Time came when she has to leave… while waiting for her train, She told Takumi she was cold… ((I laughed again)) Takumi said “You can put you hands in there… “Then excuse me” and Miyo places her hand in Takumi’s pocket… WAH~! Takumi then place his hand in as well to hold hers… SO BOLD SO SWEET… SMILES… That’s how they began.
Back to then, Miyo was left alone as Yuji went to school and Takumi had to go for work… Miyo saw Takumi’s shoes laces were untied and pointed that out on Takumi Who was already on the bike.. he jumps off and the bike toppled *clumsy* But Miyo Laughed.. It was best that Miyo stayed home Takumi told her… so she did… She packed up the place where as Takumi worked energetically in the office and Yuki was just happy in class…
In bed Miyo asked Takumi again, to continue their story… There wasn’t a second date… they broke up because he got this illness that was due to his excessive training… his motor control nerves were damage and he cant as much as halve a human can do… so he quit tracking and left Uni… and chose to quietly leave Miyo by not replying her letter as he doesn’t want to drag Miyo into his useless life… Miyo came looking for him however Takumi said some hurtful words that made Miyo ran away… Ok.. Still Takumi wanted to see her one more time… so he flew over to Tokyo, Flying to him then was already a task due to his illness… He saw Miyo outside the Uni, he walked towards her.. Then someone came and sheltered her in the rain.. Then, he thought “There’s other who liked Miyo as well, and that they could give her a better lift then he can” so he walked away once more…
Sometime after, Miyo called for a meeting… They met in a Sunflower field… Takumi’s face was so mashed up as he was feeling very bad about his hurtful words… Miyo hugged him and from there they married and moved to a house in the forest where Takumi’s Doctor was… Yuki was born later…
Now, Yuki brought Miyo back in search of the Time Capsule again and they found it this time… before they can open it up… Takumi collapse outside their house… it was all because he was rushing home to see Miyo after work and he over exerted himself… Takumi when for another check up and told him who announced Miyo that she was back… the Doc didn’t say much, all he did was remind him that the rainy season will soon be over… As the check up take place.. Miyo alone at home opened up the time capsule and read the contents of her diary.. a gust of wind blew and it was at the last few pages where she discovers her ending…
The next day was like any other day except that Miyo was teaching Yuki a lot of stuff like frying an eggs hanging clothes, growing flowers in their garden… all these were like preparation for her to leave so that Takumi wouldn’t have to work that hard to take care of Yuki… Miyo called up Takumi’s female colleagues asking from her a favor to take care of Takumi & Yuji after she’s gone… That gal totally freaked out because she knew Miyo was dead… how ever she accepted that request… knowing that Miyo doesn’t want Takumi to love another… along her way back home.. she made orders at a bakery, a birthday cake for her child every year till he is 18…
Seems like all was done… Yuki looked out at the clear skies, he ran towards his teacher and said that he really has to go… so his teaching seeing him that serious let him off… Takumi’s female colleagues saw the rain has ended and point out the window. Takumi noticed and he ran back home… Miyo took Yuki who just reached home back to where she was found… Yuki didn’t want her to leave so he told mum to not go now… you haven seen dad… Takumi got home and found no one so he ran to where he first found Miyo.. along the way… He collapse, but he couldn’t give up… one more time he thought of seeing her again and he got up and ran… While Takumi hugged Miyo after he found her.. Yuji was looking for a four leave clover, wishing that she will stay.. but with the last drop of the falling rain into the puddle of water… Miyo disappear in the reflection of ripples. Yuki found the four leave clover too late…
So what was in that Diary? Miyo found her first love, she thought it was one-sided… as she was kind of slow… she met Takumi, and saw that his shoes laces were off and pointed that out to him.. his clumsiness showed then when his bike topple… she smiled… At the stadium, she was cheering for Takumi.. and she saw the cheating going on.. she tried to convince the judges but she was ignored… so she switched of the Stadium’s spotlight ((familiar?)) during prize giving… after getting back her dairy with Takumi’s few words at Graduation.. she ran and hide behind a locker and read “It has been nice sitting next to you” she saw the pen that was in that page.. she wanted to return it then.. but she kept it… thinking someday Takumi would called her and ask it back from her… she tried calling him up to return him is pen.. But she hung up the public phone when he picks up.. and ran ((lol, whats going on? I was laughing and crying man.. )) Then one day he called asking for his precious pen… They met.. and as they part after the trade, she thought to herself.. he will never like her….. “Ay! do u happened to have some time for a cup of coffee?” she happily replied “I do”… Miyo *All day he didn’t give me a chance to talk, he was talking about everything from books to what he like… That night, His hands were so warm… When you suddenly stop replying me, I went to look for you… but, those hurtful words… my happiness is you..* She want to see him one more time.. outside her campus she saw Takumi’s back she excused herself from her friend and chased after him… She finally saw Takumi but was then hit down by a van… She lay in the hospital bed, in her dreams she saw that she was 29 and happily married with Takumi with a cute boy named Yuki, she then discovered that a year before that, she will die at 28 and only come back to meet them during the next rainy season… that moment while she was in bed… she seem to have traveled into the future… She knew that if she met someone else she would not have died at 28… but after seeing how happy she was, she called Takumi.. she choose to risk her life to be happy… “Takumi & Yuji, I’m coming to be with you…” She met Takumi at the sunflower field and decided to be with him… and soon Yuji was born… she was only 20…
Yuji is now 18 and he cook superb eggs & curry rice… their garden are now filled with Sunflowers… after reading her diary, Takumi doesnt feel that he has nv be able to give Miyo a happy life any longer... because everyday with him.. Miyo was happy... miracle?

My waterworks are running again as i recall the movie.. Thx from bearing with me... it's nice isn't it? This very simple kind of love... in one simple move.. it has also put together the things that i like.. Sunflowers, four leave clovers, the rain and fact that i'm clumsy.. It's really the kind of love i'm looking for... simple... just that... HEhee... aiya.. i go watch up le lah... tata
